The compensator uses a rolling diaphragm and a spring mechanism to maintain a slight positive pressure (0.7–1 bar) inside oil-filled housings and systems. This positive pressure differential ensures that any pressure imbalance results in oil displacement outward rather than seawater penetrating inward, protecting sensitive internal components.

No. The 260cc Oil Compensator is entirely passive and requires no electrical power. It relies on an internal SST or Inconel spring acting on a rolling diaphragm to continuously regulate internal pressure, making it ideal for low-complexity subsea systems where minimizing power draw is critical.

The compensator body is machined from Delrin, a high-performance acetal polymer with excellent chemical resistance and dimensional stability. The spring is available in SST (stainless steel) or Inconel, both of which offer strong corrosion resistance in prolonged saltwater immersion and deep-sea pressure environments.

The 260cc Oil Compensator is compatible with Panolin and Telus 22 oils. These are biodegradable and environmentally considerate lubricating oils commonly specified for subsea and offshore applications where fluid leakage into the marine environment must be minimized.

Yes. The compensator includes visual oil level monitoring via slots in the spring housing for direct inspection. Optionally, an analog sensor or limit switch can be added to provide low oil level indication, enabling remote monitoring integration within ROV control systems or topside displays.
