"Subsea" literally means "below the sea" or "under the sea surface." In an industrial context, it refers to equipment, systems, and operations conducted on or beneath the ocean floor. Subsea technologies are critical to offshore oil and gas extraction, marine research, pipeline management, and remotely operated vehicle (ROV) operations at significant water depths.

"Marine" is a broader term covering all activities and equipment associated with the sea, including surface vessels, ports, and coastal operations. "Subsea" specifically refers to systems and equipment designed to function below the water surface, often at great depth. Subsea components like depth-rated actuators and pressure compensators must withstand extreme hydrostatic pressures that standard marine equipment is not built to handle.

The proximity sensor PSW23-20000-0 is rated to 6,800m (10,000 psi), making it suitable for ultra-deep subsea deployments.

All subsea products use corrosion-resistant materials selected for harsh underwater environments. Common materials include Stainless Steel 316 (SST 316), Titanium, Inconel, and Delrin. These choices ensure long-term structural integrity and resistance to seawater corrosion across actuators, oil compensators, proximity sensors, and associated hardware.

Yes. The self-compensated linear and rotary actuators feature a 30-bit absolute multi-turn encoder mounted on the output shaft. This encoder retains position data between power cycles, eliminating the need for re-homing procedures after power loss — a critical advantage for subsea ROV and valve control applications.

The self-compensated actuators support RS422 (RS485 full-duplex on 4 wires) and RS232 serial communication at 19200 baud, 8, N, 1 configuration. All communication parameters and virtual limit switch settings are stored in internal EEPROM. A Windows software utility is also provided for easy configuration, monitoring, and control.
