A Pressure Compensation Element (PCE) is a device — such as an oil compensator — that equalizes the internal pressure of a submerged enclosure with the surrounding water pressure. In subsea systems, the 260cc Oil Compensator uses a rolling diaphragm and spring to maintain 0.7 to 1 bar of positive internal pressure, preventing seawater from entering oil-filled housings and electronics at depths up to 6000 m.
