Long Stroke Electric Underwater Actuators for Industrial Use

These actuators provide scalable axial force output ranging from 1,000 N (220 LBS) up to 77,500 N (7,000 LBS) across the product range. The 60,000 N Force model delivers up to 50,000 N, while the self-compensated model is suited for lighter-duty applications up to 1,500 N.

The actuators are available in Stainless Steel 316 (SST 316) or Titanium construction. Both materials offer excellent corrosion resistance in saltwater and harsh marine environments, with Titanium providing a superior strength-to-weight ratio for weight-critical subsea and ROV applications.

Depending on the model, position feedback is provided either by a rotary resolver mounted on the motor shaft (Trunion and 60,000 N models) or by an integrated absolute 30-bit multi-turn encoder on the output shaft (self-compensated model). The absolute encoder retains position data between power cycles, eliminating the need for rehoming.

The self-compensated model supports RS422 (RS485 full-duplex) and RS232 serial communication at 19200 baud, with all driver and logic circuitry housed internally. The Trunion and 60,000 N Force models use an external resolver feedback interface. Windows utility software and full integration documentation are available for supported models.

The actuators support multiple DC voltage inputs depending on the model. The self-compensated model operates on 24 VDC, the Trunion 1000N supports 24 VDC, 48 VDC, and 230 VDC, and the 60,000 N Force model operates on 230 VDC. This flexibility allows integration into a wide range of subsea power distribution systems.

The Trunion 1000N and 60,000 N Force models use Seacon underwater connectors for reliable subsea electrical connectivity. The self-compensated model uses an MCBH8M SubConn underwater connector with an 8-pin configuration, and ships with a 12-inch MCIL8F whip pigtail for easy integration into ROV and subsea control systems.
