NV Mechanics Design offers two depth rating tiers: the Self-Compensated Linear Actuator is rated to 3,000 msw (meters of sea water), while the Linear Actuator 60,000 N Force and the Trunion 1000N models are both rated to 6,000 meters. All models are pressure-compensated with oil to maintain reliable operation at rated depths.

The actuators are constructed from Stainless Steel 316 (SST 316) or Titanium, both chosen for their superior corrosion resistance in marine and subsea environments. Electrical connectivity is provided via Seacon or MCBH underwater connectors, designed to maintain watertight integrity at extreme depths.

The Self-Compensated Linear Actuator supports RS422 (RS485 duplex) and RS232 serial communication at 19200 baud, with all driver and logic circuitry integrated inside the housing. The higher-force models use external resolver feedback and require a separate driver/control unit, which is not included with the product.

The Self-Compensated model features an absolute 30-bit multi-turn encoder mounted on the output shaft, retaining position data between power cycles. The 60,000 N and Trunion 1000N models use a rotary resolver on the motor shaft for precise position feedback. Both systems are designed for accurate, repeatable actuation in subsea conditions.

These actuators serve offshore oil and gas infrastructure, subsea valve and pipeline control, underwater ROVs and robotics, marine research and oceanographic instrumentation, and water tank cleaning systems. Their scalable force output—from 1,000 N to 77,500 N—and depth ratings make them suitable for both light-duty and heavy industrial subsea applications.
